When marketing on the internet, building trusted relationships with possible clients is about the best thing you can do to get website traffic. You probably heard about the social networking sites by now, but how important are they really for your internet marketing business and can they help get the sort of website traffic that everyone alludes to.

The first thing you want to do when seeking to build trust is to create accounts on all the top social sites, examples being Facebook and Twitter.

You have to build relationships first and foremost before you do anything else. Whatever you do, do not appear hungry to sell them anything whatsoever as are in a social situation and you are trying to build a relationship. Your goal on these sites should be to help people and connect with them and not to sell them stuff right from the start.

There are many things you can do to get website traffic. You could personalize the appearance of your social sites pages and add good quality content regularly. Whether it is your own generated content or not, make sure it is interesting and check to see that people are interested in reading it. Make is fun and simple to read and remember that quality is always better than quantity.

The best way to grow your business online and automatically get website traffic is to listen to your target audience. But don’t wait for your audience to start telling you what they need. Instead you can simply ask them. Services such as Survey Monkey will allow you to conduct a poll amongst your membership. People love to be asked their opinion and this small investment in your time will pay dividends in the long run.

You can also hold webinars on the subjects that they suggested they might be interested in, and invite all of your followers. If you do not have the expertise to speak on the subject yourself, you can also search for an expert online and interview him or her about the topic.

Always practice the principle of reciprocity and show a genuine interest in what people have to say. If you get to know your audience, in return they will show interest in you and they will want to build a relationship with you.

Social sites may prove to be a golden mine for your business if you use them to get website traffic. So build great relationships with your clients and it could be your route to success!
