Curve Ball

Sometimes Life Throws You a Curve Ball – What Do You Do with It?

by Andy Pitt on March 23, 2011

No matter how much time you spend planning your life to ensure that everything goes right, you will ultimately find that sooner or later one or more things will catch you by surprise, and it is usually those things that are an inconvenience to your perfect plan. This is because sometimes life throws you a curve ball, and regardless of what its reasons are, it is something that we have to live with, or not. This of course does not mean that it is pointless planning things, because proper planning will ensure that the amount of curve balls that life throws at you will be substantially lower.

Okay, so life throws you a curve ball every now and then. The big question is what you do with that ball when it comes your way. Do you sit and dwell about all the hardships that are being unfairly bestowed upon you, or do you use that curveball to your advantage, which in turn will help you to move forward in life with more confidence and enthusiasm? The next question you must be thinking is how anything negative can be turned into something positive, right?

If you think about it, in order to truly become successful at anything, no matter how big or small it is, the only way that you can achieve this is by learning how to deal with all the negative occurrences that come with this potential achievement. This is important, because let’s say by some chance you do make it to the top without ever facing these negative occurrences, when they do sooner or later hit you, you will have no experience to deal with them successfully. So when sometimes life throws you a curve ball, you should see these occurrences as something positive, as this will allow you to figure out how to deal with this ball.

By taking this approach, you are using these unexpected surprises that life can throw at you as a way to ensure that when you finally do get to the top, you can feel self-assured knowing that you will be able to comfortably stay there. This is because you will be well equipped to deal with these unpleasant surprises, as well as have gained enough experience to easily deal with any new surprises that come your way. So when sometimes life throws you a curve ball, be grateful for it, as you will be learning a lesson that is more valuable than any learning institution can ever offer.

Hit a home run! Or duck depending on who’s throwing the curve ball!
